Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Jumanji is exactly what you expect from a Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson film; harmless, fun in places and generally catering for the younger viewer. It struck me as being very similar in feel to Journey 2.

Not much to say about the plot, people are sucked into a computer game and take part in the game itself whilst trying to escape. It’s not actually a remake or sequel of Jumanji but a revamp/re-imagining for a modern computer game perspective.

The cast does a good enough job although Kevin Hart was a bit annoying and Jack Black is not one of my favourites. Production values are high with good looking sets, good effects and decent action set pieces.

Verdict: Not a bad watch but nothing special either. More for young teenagers who like these type of films.
